I am ready to build up the bottom half of my engine and am torn between which crank I should use. I have both OEM 86 short rod and 89 long rod cranks
I plan on putting an ESR 310 top end on the engine so I know I will have to use an 86 style piston. If I use the 86 crank I eliminate the need for both the spacer plate and the stud kit.
This saves me money but Im not sure if using the spacer plate and long rod will have any advantages. Can anyone give me their opinion on which setup I should use?
