Iv eheard about them on only electric start bikes? what do they Do?!??!! thanks!

They're only on the kickstart R's and some 4-stroke kickstart dirt bikes. The hot start just allows more air to enter the engine and lean out the air/fuel mixture a bit until you can get the engine fired up. It's only used when the engine is warm (hence the name, hot start), as kickstart 4-strokes can be a major pain in the butt to start when they're hot, and leaning the air/fuel mixture helps a hot 4-stroke fire up easier.

THANKS! my friend said it was just to lower cmpression so u can kick it easier...... this makes more sense. why are 4 strokes harder to start when hot!?!
