ok im new here im sure theres been a thread pulled about this but honestly i dont feel like going through all the old pages.
ok what im wanting to know is that my 05 400ex is going in the shop monday and im doing the big bore kit and stage two hot cam kn filter jettin...im not gonna B.S. my way through this i dont know alot about workin on 4wheelers im wanting to know bout how much gain is this going to give me i already have a yoshimura pipe and changed my front sprocket to 15 tooth

ive got a friend that has an 02 and he bored his to 460 with no cam and he'll crap if i can outrun him so thats what im workin on

do you want to go faster then him acceleration wise or top speed wise?

top speed wise, like in a drag....im a lil better of a rider than he is and were both light guys so id like to get him but i really dont think im gonna be ale to..i just didnt want to go with the 460 kit in mine cuz i ride mine every weekend trails, sand...ill ride whatever i can

if i was you i'd do a 440 with a cam of your preference and a 450r carb. You should also get oversized headstuds and a heavy duty cam chain though to to keep you motor reliable

You also might want to look into getting a new clutch and basket to handle the xtra hp

hey man thanks for the insight, i dont have the extra cash right now ive done dropped a grand on it so far...thank god for tax returns huh lol but i found a edlebrock carb for it for 380$$ and they said its dyno tested for 7 hp...but i will check into the chain and studs thanks again
