125 or 250. 250 is better for woods riding but still excell in MX (obv). but if u just want something to mess around on and dont plan on racing or anything a 125 would be perfect. you can find like 03, 04's around 2k-2600$ Pretty cheap for being almost new.

Look for a 93-96 CR250, the best CR's ever made, and you should be able to find one reasonable. Plus they're still competitive with the new bikes.

I'd say somebody is a little biased towards hondas..lol, umm for ur size, either get a 125, or depending on ur money situation you could prob get some like cr 85 expert, and then pimp it out with a big motor and such, it'd be like a bigger sized pit bike, be pretty fun to mess around with, that's prob what I do if I wasn't going the 50 route..

I know, I've owned enough bikes and worked on alot more. The 93-96 steel chassis bikes were the best CR's Honda made. It is a superior motor to the newer case reed style, and Honda didn't get the aluminum chassis tweaked right until 02-03.

While I don't hold what any magazine as gospel, it has won Dirt Rider, and I believe Dirt Bike and Motocross Action. I stated what I know to be true, so you can go get F*****.

now i know why i dont come to this site anymore. people have their heads so far up their *** they cant get any oxygen to their head. you guys need to relax and be more helpfull rather than bashing someone for what their opinon is. it is a OPINION.

the kid wants some OPINIONS about which class bike he should be looking for. he said he just wants something to goof around on, doesnt have enough $ for a new bike. like i and few others said, 125 class bike would be key for what you want, and if you wanted to get serious about bikes such as racing and what not, its still the perfect bike. an XR200 are bulletproof. very decent power for trail riding and goofing off. I wouldnt suggest anything smaller than a 125 due to your height and weight.
if you wanna get serious about bikes and really find the best bike for your style and budget, give me a PM. I have tons of hook ups and very very helpful resourses with good reviews on bikes and people who know what to expect.

I dont know your finacial situation, but you can get a 2001 YZ 250F for $2500 if you look. Also, I know a guy who bought a 04 RMZ 250 for $3000, and was in great condition.

FYI, since most MX bikes are used for that reason, be careful about what condition it is in.

Bike to have fun and screw around on. I suggest a used xr200. Or for your size an xr250 even. Not those little kid bikes.

I have an XR200 and its fun, actually it has a pretty fast top speed, mines a six speed and i can catch up to and leave behind my friends warrior in top speed, not accelleratioin. It is heavy tho. Buy a 125 dude, they are cheap, fast, and fun, that is what im doing. Plus it takes like no time at all to replace a top end, gotta love the 2-strokes:macho

if you want a play bike, id get a drz/klx 110 (there the same bike, you can get a kwai or a zuki) and if you want a big bike to actaully ride like at tracks and such, get a 250 2 stroke or a 450 4stroke, if you have some experience, when i started riding dirtbikes again i got a kdx 200, its a trail bike, but very good to learn on, plus you can get em cheaper, long powerband too,i went to a ktm 450sx after that, i know a quite a bit about bikes, and im 6'2 210 so were about the same size, feel free to pm me if you want my opinion on a certain bike
