Where is Sheldon located? I live about half way between Columbia and KC. I may be interested in the TT. Be nice to have some more tracks to hit.

Sheldon is on 71 hwy about 120 miles south of Kansas City. We are going to start moving clay tomorrow for the tt track. We will not have a set schedule this year for tt but we will have practices and probably one or two races it just depends. we will eventually have lights and have them at night. It will be a top of the line track guarrenteed.

we finished laying the clay down today. We have to get a containment fence built before we can have practices. Hopefully if everything goes well we can start having them in march.

We layed one big clay pad. So we can change the track to anything we want. Should be really nice. I'll post some pics on here next time I get a chance.

Awesome, can't wait......

What are some of the jumps? Is there a rythm section? Whoops? Just want something to look forward to.....

pro6
02-03-2006, 07:29 AM
There is a small rythem section on the back part that goes through the timber several doubles and tabletops. They just built a new section last fall that is very similar to supercross jumps, short runs a big triple, big double, rythem section. I've only rode it once. Like I said I'm not a mxer but everyone seems to like the track. I think you will enjoy it.

I take back about the track being prepped. What I should have said was It usually is prepped for practice. But i'm not for sure.

400EX Stud I have been to Tooth and Nail and plan on attending this year as well. Matt is a great guy that has a nice track. I would like to see it expanded a bit in length but makes for some good racing as it is. If you look at the pics on his website i'm the one on the 684 Honda 450.

Hey Pro6,

We might be heading down from KC again, if we show up at 11:00 will Ken let us walk the track and maybe ride before noon?

pro6
02-22-2006, 10:18 AM
If you show up before noon. I'm sure he would let you walk the track. I don't know about riding. They will be there working on the track so I would just hit him up then.

p.s. Glad to see you guys heading back down!

Jason, you will love this track. They have added a sx section. 65' triple, 60' double, stepon step off. I went there, just made me realize I don't have it anymore (depressed now). I couldn't bring myself to hit the double or triple. There is also a double double section I couldn't do. You and Jeff would love it though. The triple has plenty of run up to it. The large double may be hard to get speed for. The track looks awesome when you pull up to it. Looks like a SX practice track, like you see in the pro's backyards......lol

We talked to Ken, he is going to change the double double section that Merrill is talking about.......

Some guy on a bike either broke his leg or jacked up his knee on the back section in one of the later practices.......

ml450r
02-27-2006, 05:27 AM
Which back section?

We left because the dust, you really can't water hard pack and not just make a mess of the track.

That sounds pretty cool. You should come down to the new track in Mexico some time. Almost all of his jumps you can just jump as far as you want . All of the landings are forgiving. There are still a few things I am working on him to change or fix but for him just starting the track it is pretty cool. I am going to post some pics on .info today.

I am not real sure if I am gonna make it to too many of the caatv series. 100% payout is a joke.

ml450r
02-27-2006, 07:15 AM
Yes, 100% is a joke. The pro class is now 15 minutes plus a lap. Chris said he picked up $22,000 in sponsors, also. The pro am class is now a trophy only class. My brother and I aren't planning on much racing this year. We will probably race at Hwy 65 though. I just spent another $15000 on my plane, I Shouldn't be spending much more on it anytime soon, but if I do I am going to go nuts. I thought quads were a money pit....lol

You need to fly to Mexico airport and pick me up sometime. A guy I worked for when I was 15 took me for a ride in his plane and it was better than any roller coaster I have ever ridden. It will make you loose your cookies in a hurry.

The reason the track wasn't watered at timberrun was because the pond is getting low. And ken didn't want to use all of the water up on practice and not have any water when it comes race time. Just thought I would let you know.

Chino886
02-27-2006, 01:57 PM
Any idea on what Ken plans on doing with the double, double section that no one jumped.....I don't think that will be safe in a race (unless you are a A, B, or Pro Rider). It was okay in practice since everyone knew that it was just going to be rolled over.....

They are going to do some work on it I know. Not sure what that means but they aren't going to take it out. They want to try to make it a little more doable. But I'm not sure thats not my department.

I haven't seen the new jumps, but I know it sure has everyone all up in a fuss.

ml450r
02-28-2006, 04:44 PM
I understand the dust issue, I was just telling Dave why I left so early. The track is great, the double double is just alittle tight. The jumps in the sx section could be tamed just abit without even changing the look or distance of the jump. The sx section is just very technical for a track that doesn't have alot of pro riders come to it. Either way it is the coolest looking section I have seen in along time.
