I personally recomend the ITP Sand Stars. I have them on my trike and love them. Great forward bite, but I'm still able to slide it sideways. Don't know about the Skat-traks, but don't get the Gekos. Everyone that I know that has them isn't at all happy with them.

I have a set of Sand Stars and love them. Very good handling and good hook-up. I have buddies that have Scat Trac Edges and they say nothing but good things about them. Go with Haulers if your a drag racer or hill shooter. Stay away from the Geckos.

yes, stay away from the geckos. Worst thing i've ever bought for my R. I'm definitely looking to get rid of mine. have 1 ride on them, bought 20 min long, blew my motor:ermm:

Search the dune section, lots of threads on the subject.

I have haulers on mine, I like them, but I'm actually thinking about swapping to Edges. They are a little wider, and should give a little better flotation. Both of these tires are very light and have excellent traction. However, they are also among the most expensive.

If you were going to go that route, I'd suggest www.rockymountainatvmc.com For roughly $220, you can get two tires and two rims, mounted and shipped to your door.

With my personal use of several dune tires, I ended up buying two of the best tires I have used. Sand Skate II's for handling with good bite and Haulers for dragging and hill shooting. With either one of these you can't go wrong!

Ive had both the haulers and the skateII's. I like the haulers the best, I really would like to try out sand star, ive heard nothing but good things about them.

I have always run haulers. I have ridden most paddles out there. So on the wifes 250r i put sand stars front and rear. They are the best looking tire out there IMO. Well the fronts work better then any other front i have used, but the rear is another story. They are an O.K. cheap tire. I got them for $165.00 rims and tires. Sand skates are about $240.00 here in SD. They are heavy, and you can feel it. I still prefer a a 7 cup glidder for a 250r. Or if you want that great turning go with a sand skate II. I would not buy sand star rears again.

ya right now i have sand skates on mine. i definiately like the feel of them but everyone knows how it is.... u see something else out there and want to try it out. so it's between the skat trak edges, sand stars, and sand skate II. if i cant find info proven that edges or stars work better then i think im going to go with what has worked for me so far and buy new skate II's

If you like the feel of ssII then dont buy sand stars. They dont turn as good. ssII have that loose feel and turn alot easyier. But those sand stars sure look good.
