The 2006 Worcs series kicked off the first round in Arizona, at a track called Speed Word. The opening round showed much promise for the rest of the series with 424 entries for the weekend.

The track was a combination of Motorcross, the vet track, and also some desert. With the track running at about 5 miles long. The motorcross section consisted of a few jumps including a step-up, a step-down, and a table top.

The track also consisted of a long woop section, that most just singled the entire way through.

Walking through the pits, Josh Frederick was set up, but he was no where to be found. It seemed that he and his family has taken a trip to the zoo, to feed the giraffes. He told us that he has to keep the family happy.

The open class was off..... and it was Doug Eichner grabbing the holeshot.

Logan Holladay, who we expected to be running in the front has some problems off the lines and started about thirty seconds behind everyone.

Logan Holladay made a great comback after his start, but was DSQ for cutting the track later that day, but he has done it accidently.

The open pro class was over, and everyone started cleaning up their machines for the next day. Which was sure to be an exciting 90 minute pro race.

It was not very long before the riders geared up, and headed to the starting line, so that they could pick their gate spots.

Logan Holladay was ready to try his chance at taking the win for the pro class. And we all knew that this 16 year old kid would defintly be out front in the pack.

Doug Eichner was strecting out before the big race, after he had positioned his quad next to the starting box.

David Lyndsay, who had switched his number from 81 to 6 this year, because of his finishing position in the 2005 worcs series, was ready to get the show on the road.

quadchick01
01-25-2006, 06:48 PM
Josh Fredricks was also strecting out his legs as he anticipated the start of the race.

quadchick01

AND THEY'RE OFF... with Logan Holladay getting a good jump off the line, and about half a quad link ahead of Eichner.

quadchick01
01-25-2006, 06:49 PM
But it was Doug Eichner who grabbed the holeshot and was out front. Followed by Logan Holladay in the second place position and Josh Fredricks in third.

But in the back section Doug Eichner had some problems. A rock became stuck in his calliper, causing him to get thrown off his quad. He was quick to get back on but had already dropped down a few spots. As he was trying to go down the straights he noticed his quad was not pulling like it should, so he had to stop and get the rock out of the calliper.

This gave Logan Holladay the chanve to lead the pro class.

01-25-2006, 07:06 PM
Josh Fredricks closed the gap between himself an Holladay, and we where all wondering if Holladay would be able to hold him off.

Logan Holladay, put on a good show this after leading for half of the pro race, he shows a promising future.

quadchick01

Logan Holladay cleaning off his face, and getting ready for the podium presentation.

quadchick01
01-25-2006, 07:21 PM
Before the pro presentation, they have the pros interview some of the other class winners. This was probably the favorite interview for the day, and it gave the kids a chance to talk to the pros. But some of them where so shy, all that would come out of their mouthes was "My mom, and my dad" even when the question that was asked was "What was your favorite part of the track".

I think he likes it pretty well. That's not his race bike, though. GWC didn't have it ready, so he raced the owner's quad. When he came into town Friday night, he didn't even have numbers, so I had a guy I work with at the base make some. He wasn't going to race the Open Pro class (obviously, he was at the zoo), but they made some gearing and suspension changes, and Kevin wanted him to get a few laps in before Sunday. It looks like that was the right decision!:D It's going to be an awesome season between him, Logan, and Eichner. If Logan puts on a little more muscle, he'll be extremely hard to beat.
