quick Q on Pro Design intake

I just got my pro design intake for my 450r, and I was wondering if you are supposed to oil the prefilter like the main filter or let it dry? i looked in the instructions but it doesnt really say anything about that. Thanks, Jason.

Did you get the foam filter or the K&N? If you bought the foam filter, then yes, oil both of them, as they are both foam. If you bought the K&N, then do not oil the prefilter.

the outwear (prefilter) is not foam, i dont think, i've never seen a foam outerwear... i have seen a daul stage foam filter but not foam outerwear in which case NO you dont oil the screen-like prefilter

this prefilter is made out of foam like the filter, it is different than what i am used to as well. I guess that when you install it, it is sort of like having a 2 stage filter.
