Anybody got some reptiles they wana show off.

I always seem to have 1 reptile or another. No snakes ussually but lizards, frogs and the occasional salamander.

I traded my Mantella frogs for a chinese water dragon. And I have had this gecko for years...

Heres the gecko...

I LOVE snakes so much, my favorite reptile, maybe even animal.

I like all reptiles a lot too.

I need to take a video, not picture, video of my friends basement, its a friggin zoo of reptiles and rats, for them to eat, down there, they prolly have at least 500 reptiles down there easy. Its nuts!

Nice reptiles . Those iguanas are HUGE! 13 yrs old is pretty old too. The tortoise is sweet. I almost got one... but that things like I life long pet.. how longs it live 50-80 yrs? lol to long for me... Nice stuff CraZY D.

The upkeep on the gecko is pretty simple. I spray down the 30g tall tank everyday and feed em every other day. so not bad.

01-25-2006, 12:39 PM
it was in a crawfish cage, we had it for a night then released it.. i called the wildlife and fisheries to see about keeping it, but they said you have a better chance kidnapping a child.

we had some when i was younger, we released in a local pond, right now they are about 15ft long.

ive had everything from gators, to owls.. anything that can be found in the swamps pretty much.. its pretty cool to live around here

Thats so damn cool. I always wanted to release Red Belly Pacus(sp) in a local pond when I was younger but never did. In the wild they can get 20plus pounds. Big fishie

I think gecko's are so beautiful but I am absolutely terrified of snakes and other lizards not sure why but it is one of my worst fears. One of my friends would catch rattlesnakes out at redrock near Vegas what a dumb *****. He also has a huge snake I'm not sure what kind it's one of the nice pet ones and it used it's body to lift the cinder block off of the top of it's cage and ate his cat. :eek2:

01-25-2006, 05:34 PM
i had a ball python for 11 years, "he" was 5 when i got him, i haven't brought myself to replace him yet, and i had 2 iguanas, got rid of them, didn't like having them...if i find a pic of "roland" the ball python, i'll scan it and post it

Gecko's don't bite

And the pythons and boa's don't even have any teeth, so if they bite you it won't hurt, I've gotten bitten by a python, and I barely noticed.

They strangle/wrap there food to suffocate it, then swallow it whole.

Oh and I just got some fish, a betta and a loach, and the tank and stuff, its really cool, I'll have to show you guys sometime.

ballz2thewall
02-14-2006, 01:05 PM
The statment about pythons and boa's not having any teeth is false, infact they have a lot of teeth. They are clear and can be seen by a micro scope. I have been bittin many times and bleed. If the teeth stay in your skin it feels like you were touching fiber glass!

Ball Pythons have several backwards curved teeth, There are four rows of teeth on the top jaw, and two rows of teeth on the lower jaw.

^^^That was taken right off of google!

02-14-2006, 01:17 PM
my ball python nailed me twice, once my fault, the other a few days before he died, anyway...they have teeth...i had about 50 little needle like pinholes in my hand both times...like stated above, they are small rear curved teeth...

the snake bites onto it's prey, giang contol as it coils itslef around the food. as soon as the moth touches the prey, digestive juices immediatelyl start the digestion process.

and they don't squeeze it to death by crushing it, they hold it tight enough that the lungs cannot expand to intake and exhaust breathes. with each attemp to take a breath, the snake tightens until the prey dies by suffocation.

it is very interesting to watch, espcially when the snake "yawns" to relock the jaw.

i taped mine once with the song pull me under by dream theatre playing in the background...

Are you mentally challenged?:huh

Maybe that is why the snake bite didnt hurt cause your too dumb to feel it

we had an Okatee corn snake one time, but my dad killed it

Sorry apparently I was wrong, I was fed non-accurate information by my friends who had snakes.

When I was bitten the snake was only about 14" long and I didn't feel anything.

And I did say suffocate like you said.
