Anyone know if you can run two Trail Tech bar mounted 35 watt torch lights in conjunction with the stock headlight, or is that going to pull to much power from the stock stator.

You can run up to a total of 100 watts on a TRX.

trail tech, got a question if you can run up to 100 watts. i have a choice of two lights that i am getting off ebay. they are au-lite 35 watt xenon bulbs or 45 watt , they are two different versions. could i get the 45 watt bulbs and be able to pull it off or am i better off getting the 35 watt bulbs. let me know thanks

Wattage is not always an indicator of how bright your lights will be. Often, lower power lights will put out more light.

The best light you can buy for your TRC is a pair of our SCMR16 HID's. It will be 10x brighter than your stock lights and simply plug into the stock wire harness. Nobody else in the world will give you that much light specific for the TRX.

Sorry I cannot help more.

Hey trailtech,

I am using some PIAA bulbs in my stock location and they are working great. I don't want to end up losing them but I would like to add some lighting. My question: what would be a better buy. 2 older style spot HID lights or one of your new mr16 HID spot lights? Crazy question but it's what I have to work with for now. Thanks

Your TRX has capability for between 100 and 120 watts of lighting, total. If the PIAA's are drawing 70 watts (reasonable assumption), then you have between 30 to 50 watts left over. Our new MR16 HIDs will draw a consistent 60 watts, and they will require 80 or a little more to start. If your TRX is 2006 with the battery, you might be OK, but the 2004-2005 with kicker only has a capacitor, and you would have problems keeping the HIDs running at idle with the PIAAs on.
The MR11 HIDS are the way to go, if you want to run with the PIAAs (or any additional lights in stock position).

Thanks Trailtech, I had a feeling the MR16 would be a little too much. Would it be best to run:

two MR11 spots on the handlebars

or

one MR16 spot on the handlbars using a frame clamp

16 watts x2 vs. 30 watts x1 ?

I am just wondering if one mr16 would be better than two mr11's
