This is my new AC Racing swingarm skid after 3 trips in the sand and 1 trip on some smooth trails. I noticed it yesterday when I was loading up at the sand pits (nothing big enough to even reach the skid). It looks like the weld broke right at the seam. There was no weld on the bottom side.

Is this a common problem? Just my particular skid? I have never hit this thing hard.

I'd e-mail the company they'll probly work with you. Those welds just don't look like they got very good penatration.

The ACs cracking is a fairly common problem, although I've not seen one crack as badly as yours. The first swingarm skid I had on my EX was an AC and I cracked it in 3 places. Two other riding buddies have also had ACs to crack in various places. We all three switched to PRM skids and haven't had a problem.

I'd go Pro Armor!

My one time experience with AC skids was the same = they are JUNK. Extremely light duty skids, if u do much woods or XC riding/racing go with PRM or Pro Armor skids. They are all gonna bend and break sooner or later but AC's just wont't take much :(
