anybody know where i could get the compressor? im not gonna buy a new horn. i know a guy that is in a train club and they have alot of old trains they use for parts. im gonna see if he will sell me some. im sure it would be so loud that nobody would know where it came from, but i dont know. would i be able to wire it up with a swich in the truck? i know somebody on here has done it before

I'm doin the same thing as you cept i'm not buyin a kit to do it. my grandpa was a old train engineer or sumthin and i found it in his garage and i'm gonna be runnin a little 3 horse aire compressor in my truck. it's gonna be loud! but it's not illegal around here i went and checked with our local police chief and he said its cool long as i don't ring it out in middle of the night.

what all is required to hook up the compressor? just run a positive in the cab to a switch, then to the battery? is it possible to have an AUX like going to the rear bumper for onboard air?

is there a way to use the horns without drilling a hole in the floorboard for a lever? id like to use it by a switch

scavange old yards for your horns.

i went the truck horn route. i can use it in town and not have the 5-0 care that much.

the horn was a gift from a friend and the whole setup ran under $80

Look on eBay. I know there are people that collect them. I bet they're going to be pricey though. If you do it, I would point it away from the cab. Do you realise just how loud it would be from a few feet away?

i use to have a dixie horn...its fun, but its just not as loud as a train horn. lol. i dont really want a truck horn...i want the train horn so i can get beside truckers and stick my arm out the window and tell them to blow their horn...then ill blow mine and see the reaction on their face. lol
