It definitly takes some time to get used to. i had it on my 400ex for like 3 rides and decieded I liked the thumb throttle better and went back to that. My opinion is twist throttles belong on dirtbikes.

I twist is far more comfortable to ride with, it takes getting used to. I have one on my 200x and I can ride faster and longer with it.

Theres not really any advantages or disadvatages of either. It's all about what you fill better riding with. Just don't expect to put on a twist and be as fast right off the bat. You reallly have to be careful when making the switch it wil take some time to get used to it.

I have a twist throttle on my 300...and I love it. I have always rode bikes with twist throttles so when I bought my bike it was the first thing I changed. I don't like the thumb throttle... my thumb hurt so bad after only 5 minutes of ridin. But it was easier to control the thumb throttle..

I know alot of people who have tried it and hated it, went right back to the thumb throttle. Mostly because they aren't used to it and crashed because it def. takes some gettin used to. I'd say wait till the off season and try it out... if you don't like it you'll always have your thumb throttle to go back to.
