tire bead

i am getting ready to mount my tires. my brother had the great idea of just ripping them off with a screwdriver and stuff. we got the tire off and the bead broken, but on the rim, there are dents and chips on the mark of the bead. would the tire bead still hold if i mount my new tires or am i screwed and need new rims?

Try cleaning them up with some fine sandpaper to smooth out and scratches or gouges. Then they should be ok.
