View Full Version : Reply needed quickly: Is this oil suitable for breakin?
I have Motomaster Motor Oil SAE 10W40 basically for a car/truck, and it is for engines requiring API SL, SJ, SH, SG quality levels.
The manual wants SF/SG Rated.
Can I use this oil? I don't want to bugger anything up for this break in.

Yes it will work. The manual calls for older crappier oil than what car standards are up to. IT will work just fine as long as their is no friction modifiers added to it. That normally is in synthetic oil anyway so if it's standard petroleum oil your fine.
