Xr600 Swap To 400ex

Has anybody done a motor swap with a XR600 motor? I f you have, how difficult was it?:D

why wouldnt you put the crf450 motor in has way more hp and can mounted easier i hear:rolleyes:

Because I can get this motor for $150 verses the money for a 450f. believe me I would love to put a 450f in it but I just happened towalk into this motor.

I put a 4 cylinder, 4 carb, dual exhaust 600 yamaha street bike motor in a quadracer frame to run TT if that matters. It's a beast.

cool, you probably know my buddy adam then i bet. he use to live there but hes back home in iowa now.

go with it man, my 600 will outrun this new gas gas, predator, raptor, and afew banshees. so why wast time with a 450? the 600 requires less acc. also. the only thing better about the 450 is the cooling.

yea how is the 600 on power, i got one for a trade on a 350x motor with a cracked center case, its a 95 im still waitin for it, i just shipped my other motor out the other day. i would rather go with it then a 450 for the price difference to, they charge arm and leg for those things

If you do manage to get it done, let me know how it works. I have seriously considered it myself. It seems like the xr mounts would all be close to the same.

the company i bought my motor from said its bout the same size as a 400ex so itll probably work in a 400 easily, but i went to the honda dealer by me and saw a xr600 an it looks taller than a 350x motor so ill have too cut up and weld my frame so it fits, the frame on a 350 is kinda like

i am doing a xr600 in a 400ex and it is real close to being a bolt in swap.you will have to do some cutting and welding though.i am getting started on building mine now.as soon as i get it going ill get some pics and post them.

:eek: :eek: Hey I'm originally from RC :):) moved to WA state 9 yrs ago best thing I ever done LMAO so is there places to ride around there?>? Was supposed to go back this month for a family reunion but had no desire too, how long have you lived there??? I REALLY want to take my son & myself to Sturgis for the flattrack races during the rally but don't think that'll happen this year might have to plan for it next year I didn't know thye had a quad class but THEY DO!! Cool about the 600 motor also, we have one we are gonna slam in either a 250R frame or 400, we have the R frame but it's tweeked some need to see if it's worth it too fix otherwise get a new frame, we are gonna use ours for a flattracker :blah: that'll be my sons new one I do believe :devil: :devil:

it is about 17 1/2 inches tall from the bottem to the top of the headstay.

i think 19 inches to very top. there are a few 250r in no maine with no engines. that will be death on 3 wheels. :eek2: my 600ex will go 92 on downgrade. acording to my buddy , on a mod banshee,with speedo. wound out beside me, 600s kick, good luck.
