My freshly rebuilt 250r had 175psi, and I put a CR250 gasket on it and it went upto 225psi! You need to run race gas at that pressure.

I use a cr 250 head gasket. I have an 86 top end with a 19cc dome in my Pro design cool head. I have to run Race Gas 110 or above. If you're running a stock head you should be able to get away with 93 pump gas just using the CR gasket.

does it matter what year the cr250 gasket is? Also, I my 250r is a 86 and it has about 180psi of compression. So how much more compression would this give me?

After rebuilding my R I had about 185PSI and after the CR head gasket I gained about 25lbs PSI to about 205PSI. I can safely run 100 octane without ping but do NOT go any lower than that. I usually run 110 though!
