If you didnt screw with the airbox/lid or exhaust, your jetting should stay the same adding a cam or an aftermarket air filter doesnt do anything to your jetting,BUT your gonna want to check it anyway to make sure your good

I'm assuming your talking about a 2006 450R? You need to get a full exhaust system and run without the airbox lid. If you do this, along with your cam and your filter you'll be pushing 50 HP with the proper jetting. Your jetting will completly change depending on if the lid is on or off, so just run the lid off. The exhaust is the key here.... Most guys don't JUST cam their bike, you're kinda building in reverse.
Get an exhaust too, then buy a CRF450 adjustable needle and some jets. Run the needle on the 4th notch down, run a 165 Main Jet and the stock 42 pilot is ok, as long as you buy the adjustable needle.
If you don't change the needle, run 175 Main with a 48 pilot, but the new needle set up is the way to go. Plus a bigger #55 Leak Jet.
THIS INFO IS FOR THE 2006.

A pipe and a cam on the 06 with the lid off and jetted properly is 47-48hp. Honda has their act together with this motor. Can't wait to test some 06' big bore kits:blah:

Anytime you change airflow in or out of the engine, you need to rejet. The filter is letting more air in. The cam is letting more in and out. You need to rejet, and yes you kind of are building this thing backwards.

im running a 130 main pilot and stock pilot on my 06.

i have installed the hrc cam, the header, a k and n air filter, and carbon pro exhaust.

this is at sea level with the airbox lid on.
my spark plug is coffee brownish as it should be.

my question is i dont see how everyones bumping up to like a 160 main.

that seems way too much.l what sea level are you guys at? or once i take the airboxlid off is that when you have to really rejet?
