Yes, Hopkenton-Everette is excellent riding. I believe it is state land.

Im new to NH and to ATV's, only been up here since april 05. I've been to H-E about 5 or 6 times, once in the snow. Im thinking about going this weekend.

I also ride some power lines in Bedford, off of Back River rd, very large riding area with a mix of sandy areas, nice straight aways and wooded trails. Its about 10 min from my house.

I dont have anybody to ride with so if u want a riding partner contact me, DANLVAN@VERIZON.NET

Ive also been told u can ride at Bear Brook SP as long as there is snow on the ground, havent tried riding my quad there, but did ride my mountain bike there 2 times, nice trails for biking.

I don't think we will be doing any riding this weekend. Talking about a foot of snow. Need a 4x4 quad to get through snow that deep.

I would love to check out those trails by hooksett too.

Where do you go riding?

DANVAN
01-07-2007, 08:53 AM
Most of the rides lately have been at Hopkinton-everette, use to ride the power lines in bedford off of back river rd alot, also power lines and sand pits in hooksette, just went north to Jericho and Success last weekend. Have also gone to Pisgar and Rockingham, both are good for families. Rode along the Merrimack river near Budwiser north, but found someone that was ticketed there so I wont go there again. Always looking for a new place if time allows.

How about u?

Civicssuck
01-07-2007, 09:01 AM
Pretty sweet.

I use to ride at the pit in Merrimack growing up (next to the dump). Been there since it has been turned into a "track". Also use to ride off of back river road in Bedford too, been there lately but it's not the same anymore.

Lately I have been going out to Weare to a buddy's house and hitting woods trails out there. Actually going there in 30 mins. Went out to Hooksett yesterday, to Adam's Pit I believe, not as fun. Just big sand hills and some woods riding. Don't get me wrong, fun but a little too rough.

How old are you? Where abouts in Merrimack do you live?

Manch Vegas
01-07-2007, 11:26 AM
did 23 miles yesterday on the trails in hillsboro, an windsor. Was pretty rough in spots, but, I got through, VERY muddy but still a good time, couldn't resist goin out when it was 65 degrees!! If you guys ever wanna hook up, I ride at the Hooksett pit too, always lookin for more "play" areas!

Civicssuck
01-07-2007, 01:46 PM
Yeah, **** I didn't know so many were around!

DANVAN
01-07-2007, 04:29 PM
Im 38, soon to be 39, I live near the police station off off Babosic in Merrimack. But I ride like a 20 year old.

Yeah, the last time I went to the power lines in Bedford I couldnt believe what the place looked liked like, I almost ran into that gate they put up, plus all those trees they took down had me wondering what was going on.

I like tough/technicle trails, the harder the better in my book, as long as my 2 wheel drive quad will get thru, or better yet if someone with me has 4 wheeldrive.

I forgot about the Merrimack trail, Ive riden it, I find it boring after 2 laps. I like trails mostly.

I just moved to NH almost 2 years ago, and feel in love with quads right away, bought one quad along with the house from the previous home owner here. Since then Ive bought 3 more quads, so the whole family has one now.

I'll be glad to hook up with any of u guys when time allows, I have a strange work schedule that changes around every few weeks, but always try to get in a ride every week or so.

Civicssuck
01-07-2007, 06:46 PM
Sweet sweet. Yeah I can say I have more fun in the woods now.

Keep in touch.:)

01-09-2007, 07:51 PM

DANVAN
01-09-2007, 07:58 PM
The Merrimack MX trail is on Lawrence rd(I think thats the name), right next to the transfer station, it is the old landfill. You are supposed to be a Merrimack resident to ride there.

I havent been to bedford in a few months, but the last time I went there, there were lots of trees down, so Im not sure whats going on there. Plus there was this fence/gate put up across the trail heading towards the soccor field, I was just told recently that the gate was put up buy a local property owner because of all the 4 WD trucks going thru there, I dont know for sure.

Hey, I always willin to go to hooksett when I have time. Right nows kinda tough cuz of the baby bein due in a month, but.. might get out on sunday for a couple hours, either hooksett, or... maybe clough.
Ya, I heard about the merimack thing, do you know for sure that you have to be a resident danvan? I wonder if you as a resident could bring guests?
You guys should really check out this website for more "trail" info an stuff. just, if you go there, don't mention places like the hooksett pit an bedford an stuff, cuz... they're sticklers about "legal" trails! But, a BUNCH of good guys over there who ride EVERY weekend!

DANVAN
01-10-2007, 06:24 PM
Yes, I can bring a guest, have already done it, there was a fish and game cop there one time checking registrations, he didnt care where we lived, just wanted to make sure we were registered. Its a town ran thing, is a town officail is there, they may ask for proff of residence if your not with a resident.

We shouldnt even mention our riding places here, but we do.

I will ck out the web site, thanks.

This sunday is out for me, my brother is visiting from NY.

The merrimack MX trail is closed on sundays, there is a gate there that will be locked, so dont waste your time.

I'll take ya there sometime, congrates on the baby.

The pits in Hookestt were good, I will go back sometime.

Thanks for the pics and trail info Danvan!
Looks like you guys had a little trouble getting up that bank on the edge of that stream. :)
I hope we can hook up sometime this year for a ride.
I'm new to the ATV sport though so you might have to take it easy on me, just turned 37 last October. :D

Oh let me guess.....DanVan showed you the pictures of me rolling my quad backwards down the stream embankment . My first backflip!! Good times I tell ya. Next time I am bringing my camera so as to catch Dan rolling his over. Should be easy to do since it happens quite often I just put a fresh battery in and I'm ready to hit the trails again! Anyone wanna ride?
:blah:

DANVAN
01-11-2007, 11:19 AM
Yes Steve, u gave it away, those were pics of u, I didnt tell him who it was tho, u did.

I do roll my quad a bit, but I dont remember doing it with u, did I?

Im new to quading also, started when I moved to NH in april of 05, I love it, dont know how I lived before, Oh yeah, I used to mountain bike.

muchas
01-11-2007, 12:45 PM
Don't think I'm complaining at all Dan. Hell I think the pics are awesome!! You have my permission to post any and all pics of me with name and face even. Send them to an ATV amgazine and if printed I would be proud as hell of them. I'm neither ashamed or bothered by anything I do. My halloween costumes usually prove that :-). Yes you have rolled it with me a couple of times . The old saying as a kid was "if you don't dump it at least once during a ride your not riding hard enough". So when do we ride again? I putt around too much all by myself. I need someone crazy to go with! Sure wish we had some snow though.

DANVAN
01-11-2007, 12:53 PM
I wasnt sure if u were unhappy about it or not, glad your not, I just sent him the 2 latest sets of riding picks from H-E.

If I could post pics I would, but I dont know how to.

I vagley rember rolling it 1 time with u,at Bedford, but u can ask Kevin, I usually do roll it at least once per trip.I guess Im kind proud of that.

When? Not sure, I have some extra time on my hands now, just lost my job today, so when Im not job hunting, or doing some sort of house work, I may be able to get out. Not sure what the wife will think tho, she's a bit upset about the job thing, but she'll get over it, I'll get a job, I pretty much have to.

This weekend is out, but maybe next week some day?

muchas
01-11-2007, 01:01 PM
Sorry to hear about the Job situation bud. That sucks. I hope you find an even better job. Sometimes these things happen for a reason. I may be going back to a regular job soon as my welding buisiness is pretty slow and has been for a while. Barely enough to survive on but enough to make me hesitant about finding a real job. For now I have plenty of time to ride just no one to go with during the week. Let me know when you want to go and I'll be there! Latah.
