Anyone ever seen the Z400 at the race tracks????? I know in the mags they say it is better than the cannondale cannibal an the 400ex but has anyone seen that theory proven in person???

i've seen one at a race, but it wasn't racing. the difference at a race is going to be the rider, not the quad if you're comparing stock-to-stock.

that's true. But you can tell a little about how they perform and what kind of power they have.

my z would bust my friend's 400ex when mine was stock and his had several mods, it didnt seem to have half the power that my z has. now that i've modified my z the 400ex feels simply pathetic for a 400cc sport quad

A Z is prob better at MX than a 400ex (stock vs. stock), but I have a hard time believing it is better than a Cannondale. Then again, I never really saw a Cannondale race.

I raced a kid around the track, and the only time he beat me was in the turns, but ona straightaway I could pull in front of him, and he has a 416 kit. the reason he gets me in turns is he rides there every weekend, I ride once a month if I'm lucky.

i like both really, but the facts are a 06 z400 is better at everything compared to a 06 400 ex

A Z-400 does have more power stock for stock and will bust a stock 400ex given same conditions, rider skill, and weight. Sorry guys, I own two 400ex's and it hurts admit, but it's true. As far as handling, I think that is a rider preference. I feel 10 times better on my somewhat stock 400ex than my b-inlaws KFX400. But someone else may feel totally different. To compete serious on a 400ex, you have to do what I did... look below at details...lol.

But hey, shout out to Mr. 03_Z400, apparently you ain't raced a serious 400ex yet...... If you can't beat a modified yfz, 450r, or raptor, you ain't gonna come close to me....

my quad has dropped sprocket, HMF s/o exhaust, jet kit (165 main) k&n filter and procom CDI box, thats it for performance.. and if you've got all that work done to your's and cant outrun a mostly stock 400 thats really really sad. mine is made to ride and race with my friends, not something i can only race.

Ha ha, it's cool... But mine, I ride with friends and race. I put the motor together myself so I know it's done right. And, in 10 months of trail riding it and racing it, I have not had to turn a wrench on the motor.... If it's built right, you won't have to touch it. My friends make fun of me all the time too cause I don't care that I'm six inches wider than stock and sit lower, I still go everywhere they go! :D

yeah, i wanna buy cams and make mine a 440 and also wanna widen it 2 inches on each side, but i cant aford it right now cuz i just got a truck for when i get my license, i'm gonna drag race at the county fairs some though, and i wanna be ready.. i've already spent over $1,000 in accesories

It adds up quick and easily! I lucked out and bought another 400ex with the Gibson front end, axis shocks, the swingarm, rear shock, axle, everything you need for motocross, the whole quad for $3,500. And it even had motor work done to it, 426 kit, 12.5 JE piston, port and polished head, hinson basket, 41mm FCR... I lucked out! I still got the thing if anyone wants another red 400ex! lol.. $2,200 with all stock suspension and motor work done.

yeah, i found out really quickly how fast that stuff adds up.. lol, but as long as i can outrun my buddies im doin good ;), but i was wonderin what kind of +2 axle i could get for a reasonable price, im just gonna put wheel spacers up front but in the rear i wanna do it right and replace the stock axle

yeah. i think i saw a g-force add in my dirt-wheels for like $199 but i couldnt remember, but my suzuki dealer showed me where he could get me a firestick or something like that and a few other brands for around $200, are both of those good strong axles though?
