Shims?

I am installing a Sparks Aggressive Cam, and a HC piston this week and was wondering if I have to "SHIM" it I have now clue what these are and was wondering if somebody sould help me. How many "shims" with this cam. thanks in advance

They dont make a clymer for a 450r yet...or DO they?

Get one from honda. They are much better. As for the shims, I would suggest getting a shim kit from hot cams. You also need feeler gauges.

how many did u put in and where can i get that shim kit from and how much is it...also what kind of cam is that?

i instaled the hotcams stg 2, 2 weeks ago and i did not have to shim it at all every thing cleared put about 15 hours since the install

Here is a picture of where your shims are.


For your new shims:
A = (B-C) + D

A = New shim thickness
B = Recoreded valve clearance
C = Specified valve clearance
D = Old shim thickness
