The day started out on a rough note. D-7#61-450r took a digger right at the beginning. he had to take a trip to the ER, but he called a little while ago and everything was ok. I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a little sore for a few days. Heal up soon bud. Need you back out here...

D-7#61-450r
01-23-2006, 07:23 AM
Yeah I'm pretty sore eeven with some pain pills. Sorry to shake everyone up yesturday. My knees, wrist and face are really badly road rashed. My lower back is also very sore. After a cat scan and having my lower back xray'd They said I was O.K. but would be very sore far a couple of days. I just walked out and looked at the damage to my quad and I think I got the worst. Helmet, rear plastics, seat latch, grab bar and possibly handle bars are the main quad damage. THANKS to everyone who helped me yesterday because I don't remeber much. It's good friends like all of ya'll who help a poor busted man like myself out. I'll be okay and back oneday. Thanks for all of your help guys.

Terry

Hey man....You don't know how glad we are to hear that...You took a bad ride....I knew your knees & wrists were going to be sore....Take your time and heal up....Listen to the docs....I noticed that the chrome on your bars were cracked all to hell....The grab bar looked bad too....I don't think you hurt the pipe though....Lay around and watch the soaps today and get yourself back together....Old man Dup

Dupontster
01-23-2006, 08:04 AM
Terry, forgot to tell you....When you get the bike back out, check the right rear wheel....Not sure if the wheel or axle is bent but something there isn't right....Maybe just the flat tire hopefully...

Terry,

What happened?

D-7#61-450r
01-23-2006, 03:48 PM
Thanks again for everyone's concern. Riding with good people is great, whoever hasn't called has writen to me today. Thanks alot it helps you make it through. I have nerer been on this side of an injury and it does suck but I didn't break anything.
For those who were not there. the pic in this forum of the double I was jumping for my first time and some reason or another my frontend dropped fast and I hit the ground hard. Smashed my seat latch rear fenders, grab bar, and possibly bent my bars more. The chrome tag bars flake. The chrome peeling has been going on for awhile. Ian's look the same way. I don't remeber much but when I was coming down thinking this must be what Ryan Sowwers saw when he crashed at Loretta's last year.
Basicaly I started to relize what was going on in the hospital which is every bit of 45 minutes away. they exrayed my back and gave me a cat scan and said all was okay.
As far as my rear axel and tires, I bought these tires used and have had a hard time keeping air in them, so they probally are just flat.

Once again thanks to everyone who has called or writen me. I am an active person and sitting around hurts more than anything. Also without those who were there I wouldn't know much about my crash.

Gary, Are you all planning on riding this Sunday?

TWISTED
01-23-2006, 08:05 PM
Well hurry up and heal. A friend of mine just bought a Takeuchi skid steer and is hopefully, weather permitting, gonna be working on the track on Sat. Hopefully it will be dry enough that I can haul some dirt out there and build another jump or two. Also, I'm gonna reroute the track so we don't cross my driveway. It's only going to get better!!!!

That's just the way you looked on Sunday....Your wrists looked rashed too...I bet it is sore as hell....Could have been worse though....Get yourself well soon....Come on over to Garys on Sunday and tell the boys what NOT to do....On second thought don't come over yet....Gary may want to charge you for the big chunk of ground you took out of his track.....

Got any pictures of a Quad Tech hood all tore up?

I wish I new how to post them so you would't have to link to them but sometimes this happens.

JRP always wear all the gear you can. I have enough wounds wear I thought gear was covering. I have been knocked out twice in the past 7 months wearing a helmet. When I ride again I'll be suited up again

There are some other jumps but nothing any bigger than what was in them pics. The track is a great practice track imo. Its not to difficult and you go whatever pace you want to nobody there will mess with you. Its a great day of riding. I think Gary said he was going to do some work to the track.

MX Dad I plan on one day bringing my son out to gary's to ride also. He is a bit younger that your boy but I think they still will have fun out there together. Thanks for all the concern guys but I'll be alright the doc told me to stay off the quad for awhile. I guess this season is down as a rider. I may have to be a sponser to 88. What do ya'll think. More or less I'll be the Mafia and Last minute Racings biggest fan. I also have a pro am rider to cheer for this year. I don't want to spoil his news so if he wishes to tell he can.

Since I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE PRICE OF RACING THIS YEAR MAYBE i'LL BE ABLE TO FINISH MY QUAD. I don't really blame the rear bounce on the rear shock but I will have a new shock by the time I jump again. Also I will get to spy on my competition and see what they are doing to go so fast. I can take these slow motion pills the doc gave me to study people like Del152, 85, 133, and all you others that are really moving.:bandit:

Well today was damage assement day for me. I found out my right rear wheel and it looks like the axel is bent also after swaping wheels. Rear fenders= trash, seat latch= trash, I believe bars are a little more tweeked, bumper is pushed in. I think Caterpillar built it because the welds and powdercoating held. A bolt that holds my airbox on is snapped off, Hopfullly my subframe is fine. Grab bar= scap metal, and rear fender mounts bent a little. Not to bad off. I actually lost more money not working this week than Quad damage. Oh yeah thank god for insurance, I recieved 1 bill from the hospital for $3600. I'm sure more are on the way. Good health insurance is great, I wish my short term disability was. Important things for everyone to verify you have. I will be looking into Afflack very soon.

If you're referring to Millers Tavern, I used to, but they kinda did my buddy who was the race director wrong, so that kinda did it for me with that bunch. I look for them to really change for the worse this year. People give their hard earned money to go there to race and have fun not to be treated like a bunch of kindergarteners!!!!! That's why I ride at my place.........

Yeah, thats cool. I met duponster up there last time I was there, I don't like how they have their series set up that much. I'm a little small for a 450, ask Duponster, so I sent the VSP staff an email asking to raise the age limit on the blaster class, so that I could race a 300ex without racing againsts the 450's, but I'm pretty sure they shot me down. Your place looks cool, I'll have to come sometime. How old are you guys anyways?

The #1 reason I will continue to ride is because of the people I have met over the past couple of years. Out of racing and riding I have met a great group of people who are always willing to help out. Thanks for all the motivational speaking everyone. Even when your down and out thoughts of riding do bring happiness. Also I'm in no big hurry to build my R for this season I've got plenty of time.

The Twisted Park had a new rider there today. This is my daughter Ashliegh age 4. Lots of water today. These pictures dont show the big holes. We didnt fing them until after I put the camera up. The back part near the woods had 2 deep mud holes which she played in most of the after noon. This is her new Kazuma Falcon 90

Old Man Dup here....I remember when my 2 were that size...They'd go out of their way to find the most mud and water to play in....Pizzed me off because I had to clean their bikes up afterward and loosen up all the frozen parts when they broke....They grow up quick...But look at all the fun they have...:D

I saw Beasley at the dc bike show a couple of weeks ago. So I don't know about Florida. Feb. is a month that if the weather is good he holds races. They are non points so they don't really matter to anyone except practice. Be thankful if you get to race one weekend in Feb.

I go for MRI on the 23 to find out whats up with my shoulder/back. Its been almost 2 months and still can't find out whats wrong with me. Therapist seems to think I have a torn rotor cuff.

JT on a stock Quad = Fair advantage to other riders.
I also see the 30+ class is the new A class anyway.

Come on JT if there are 10 A guys there that equals some cash for the new quad. Also bragging rights that you beat them on a stock quad.

That's nobody's fault but your own... He should be good and tired. Melvin and Mario gave him a good workout. By the way, what we talked about keeping a secret, he let the cat outta the bag!!!! He reminds me of a bad refridgerator, can't keep nothing.....

Im an inexperenced rider, i live about 2 hours away from you, but might be interested in comming down one sunday.

The only other MX track I've been to is Breezewood and it was pretty hard. I liked the kiddy track mostly, but how does it compare to that? I dont really like doing big jumps for reasons of inexperence, so what do you suggest?

Thanks, also can you PM directions to it? Thanks

If everything goes as planned, I'll finally have a REAL track after Saturday. Two track loaders and a dump truck all day Saturday, with 70 degree weather should get it done.
