Im not crazy I have an 05 and 06 model.

they are good in the woods but you have to mod them to make them right. Rumor was that Honda was going to make a special edition with those mods already in place.

Gears, more clearence etc....

i don't think i ever heard that rumor.
and, i'm on here every day.

That is what I wanted to know. I had heard it from a couple of different people. Just checking to see If I wanted to keep my air cooled machine and add all the extras or be patient and wait on the liquid cooled one that I was hearing about.

I heard something like that a little while ago, but thats before the 06 450 came out.

really, a lower compression? a lower compression than what other stock piston in a quad? i dont know how many quads have a stock compression over 12:1, but i didnt think there were any at all.....

I received the information (rumor) from a parts managaer at a local dealership just last week.

If it is not human and ok to be curious about an improvement to a new product and to inquire about it from other riders

Dude, they aerent trying to be jerks or anything. They are just trying to make sure you have your facts straight. Some people come on here and start posting things like they are facts, but they are actually very wrong. They are just watching out for you.

If you'd like to leave this forum that is your choice, but I dont know why you would want to do that. This is an awesome place to get information and in my opinion its the best. Without this website and the help of some members on here I would know nothing, and my quad would be a complete mess. I didnt know anything when I came here.

I think the guy is just wondering if there was some special XC edition from Honda, like how ATK has their 3 different quads (base, XC, and MX) for that, no, Honda is not going to release an SE model, at least not this year. The 450's have been liquid cooled since '04. I'm still waiting for the 650R :devil:

Is it possible, Vinson2000, that you may have the 400ex? Reverse? Electric start on the '05? :confused:

very good point.
to the casual passer-by, the 400ex looks just like a 450.
my brother-in-law argued up and down that honda was putting out yellow 450r's. i kept saying "no, that's a 400ex". finally, one day he stopped at the honda shop he'd been driving by. and behold, it was a 400ex.
