Well i am thinking of buying a HPI Savage here possibly. I was wondering, do you have to rebuild these things? How long will they run for? I just need to know the basics on these things and what sort of maitenance is needed on them.

keep the air filter clean, use after run oil and keep it maintained and it should last a good while

as far as rebuilding goes, you can get new piston and sleeves for the engine but sometimes they are beyond repair so you hve to buy a new motor (200 or so tops)

and then sometimes a whole bunch of stuff goes wrong and it lays on a table for 6 months

Honestly, if maintenence is a problem, don't get one. Nitro trucks need to have something done, or at least checked if there isn't a noticable problem everytime you run it.
