hey guys, got my new carb today. Can't wait till I put it on. But I have to get the throttle cable.

.....What I wanted to know was; Is there anyway to hook up the TPS, and what is the other electrical plug for? I've been doin some research- I found out that I can take the jets out of my stock carb and put them in the 450r carb. I'm running dynojet's kit.

thanx:D

I got my tail light working too. Went to the auto parts store, found a stoplight assembly, modded my tail light lens, and hooked up the brakelight kit, and she's all workin fine.

Well guys, I caught up with a guy that sold me a throttle cable today and a yamaha R1 tail light (from YFZ 450r). Got eveything for $60 bucks:D

I took off the old one, exchanged jets. Threw new carb on bike. The only thing that will be a problem, is the old air filter boot. It's a tight fit. So I removed the entire air box so that I can bring the tubbing closer to the carb. I had to also cut a piece of plastic off the petticote so that the choke lever won't hit it. I also have to get the correct fuel tubbing. But other than that, the bike runs great:D ...the extra power is really noticable. I suggest everyone with a 400ex do this mod, you'll love it.

i just got one for my 440ex. you mentioned you had to get a cable. does this mean my stock throttle cable wont work on my 45r carb?

No it wont. You'll have to get the cable for the 450r carb. I bought my cable from a guy for $10. I think the dealer has them for around $20.

whats better about having a 450r carb?

yokeracer

the carb is bigger.......more air in + more gas in, = more power out:D

think of a car. If you pull of a 2bbl, and exchanged it for a 4bbl, you will increase power, and fuel consumption:rolleyes:

jet it like you would the stock carb. that's what I'm doing. That's what I've read everyone else has done.

besides the throttle cable, air box tubing, and choke lever were there any other problems?

Nope, just jet it like the old one was, and you should be A. O. K.
