how do i know if i need to rejet my carb?i cut the baffle thing out of the muffler end cap.my spark plug is a rusty brownish color on the electrode and black on the threads.

I cut mine out on my old pipe its so not worth it if u run through alot of water ur plug will turn that color.

a white or grey color is too lean=go bigger
a black color is too rich=go smaller
you want a cocoa brown , which is sounds liek you are almost there, maybe a little rich. But how did you check? to do a plug check install a new plug. start the quad, let it warm up to operating temp, them take off and wind it out in the gears. do like a 3rd gear top end run, then without letting it idletoo much, kill the engine and pull the plug.

i was checking things on it the other night and decided to pull the plug to see what it looked like.ive got a couple hours on it so far.not even time for the first oil change/valve adjustment yet.

Pulling the plug without doing a "plug test" tells you nothing.
