OK! Here is the deal. My friend and his brother said they would help take my engine apart to get to the cylinder and the cam. To get my engine bored out, and put a cam in.

So, I am thinking about the wiesco 11.5:1 440 kit with the stage 2 hotcam. But i don't want any over heating problems. So, i was thinking i might go with the 426 kit.

What do you guys with more experience reccommend? And were is the cheapest place to buy these kits at thanks.

is there that big of a HP diff between the two kits?

I'm not overly experienced with the 400ex, but I would reccomend the 426 so you don't need to install heavy duty studs. 426 sould rev out better anyways.

I would also reccomend the 10.8:1 pistons. 11.5:1 will require you to run a mix of race gas unless you retard the cam timing which will give you less power than the 10.8:1

416 will give better low-end for raceing...id say the 426, i agree with bwamos the 426 wont require as much heavy duty parts as the 440 would. the 440 is really good on the top end, the 426 would be better all around unless your going to play in dunes or drag most of the time.

300ex13 has it backwards, 440 are bottom end torque monsters and the 416's rev for days.

Honestly, I'd do a 416 over a 426. They are more common, and if something happens, you still have an overbore.

I would get the bigger sleeve then start on that with the 426, then you can still go to a 440 later
