Has any body ran a steup of a pc 2000 265 built for high rev with a stroked crank? I called and asked Duncan Racing if it would be a good setup, and they told me it would actually make it slower. If anyone has this setup or seen it anywere let me know what you think of it.

First, the cylinder would have to have ported for the stroke, otherwise the port timing will be all outta whack. The pc2000 is a powervalve setup isnt it?A pv would with the stroker kit would probaly be a dog.

ESPECIALLY a high-rev porting. High rev porting generally increases both exhaust and transfer port heights, and that just doesn't work well with a stroker crank.

The stroker crank adds duration to both. However, the stroker crank also increases piston speed. You end up with a motor that should be reving slower, because of the increased stroke, but instead wants to rev higher due to the increased duration on the exhaust and transfers.

Just a bad combination. If you want to run a stroker crank, you really need to port your cylinder specifically with the stroker in mind.

but if it wasnt ported for high rev would it be a good set up? Can you get a pv block off?

why would you want to waste the money then on the cylinder to block the power valve?

Why don't you sell that cylinder for a few hundred, and put that money towards a non-powervalved aftermarket cylinder that'll be better for what you want to do?

Benson NC, thats where I bought my first 2 cycle race kart back in 1967. Been stuck on 2 strokes ever since.
You wouldnt by chance know Earl Lee would you, over around Four Oaks.

Most 265cc 250R engines are built as rev engines, but you could take the PC2000 cylinder with the pv & a stroker crank & build a pretty good torque engine. That is if, no body has been cutting on those ports.
If those ports have been cut on, more than likely if you add in a stroker crank, it would turn the engine into a rev engine, which you probably dont want, right.
I have some ideas I could share with you where you could probably make all that combo work together, but I'll PM you about it.

hey man thanks for the info, the port are untoutched and if they are toutched it was not a port job but a clean up. i want a mid-top end job.
