blaster question

hey my friend just got a blaster today for real cheap but it wont stay running. it wont run under half throttle and when you let off it dies but seems like it locks right up. and when you rev it, the engine speed drops really quickly. i think it may be bad crank bearings but does anyone else have any ideas?

The jetting is most likely off.

^^^ same thing i was thinking, try moving the needle clip and see if it helps, if it does then you know the jetting is off and you need to go get a different main

that would work except it was running fine until the kid who had it before was crusing across the ice and it cut out and died. it has plenty of compression and there isnt any unburnt oil in the exhaust so im pretty sure the top end is good.

just a random guess.but have you checked all the wiring and plugs for corrosion/broken wires?since the wonderful state of MA. is notorious for salt overuse and he was riding on ice.maybe some salty slush got into something it wasnt supposed and is messing with the ignition system.

take off the throotle over ride systm. i bet thats it, even if i'm wrong, its cheap to do ( a kit is about 20 bucks, you can get them from anyone) and you should do it anyway
