Trail tech lights???

My brother wants to put a hood on his 400ex, but still wants to have lights. His question is will the trail tech mini torch lights (35 watts) be as bright as stock (frame mounted) Or will he be better off getting the regular handlebar mounted torch lights? We have already searched it and we couldnt find any comparisons with the mini torch lights. He wont mind the lights not turning with the handlebars. Which would he be better off with? Also, one more thing, does any installation tips on installing the maier 250r hoodscoop on a 400ex? Pictures would be nice. Thanks.

i have heard that the trail techs will got really hot...and should be mounted away from pastics...a 250r hood is pretty simple to install on a 400ex i watched 40028 install his and there wasnt much to it just cut you fenders to the size of the hood, and mount the hood then trim the plastics so the hood fits on top of them nicely

My brother has his fenders cut so melting the plastic probably wouldnt be an issue. Any other people?

i have the frame mounted lights and they are alot brighter than stock. they dont get very hot either, just warm. def. not hot enough to melt anything. the people at trailtech are really nice as well. id highly recommend them!

So you are saying that the frame mounted mini torch lites are brighter than stock? Do you have 35 watt lights?

yep, i have them on my yfz, tho the stock lights were dull to begin with, they are much brighter than my friends 450r lights as well.

They are around $100. to $150. I have them and they are brighter than stock by alot.
