View Full Version : whats the best way to get rid of scrathes?

i did a search and didnt find what i wanted so i figured i'd ask whats the best way to lessen the apperance of scratches? i know on my mustang i use black turtle wax but im not sure if they make red wax. i used plastic renew on a quad once and didnt really like it is there another way?

I got clear turtle wax, and after a good cleaning of the plastics, and the turtle wax and a good buff, it looked pretty good. Other then that I don't know what else to say.

yea i just wax it, then buff it for a while, squeky clean, and the scratches are smaller

never have tried it but you might get some actual 3M buffing compound it will really take out the scratches on paint !

That would be with 1500 or 2000 grit paper

Plastic renew which can be purchased at any offroad accessory shop. It is alot of work but works great and looks like new.

It is around 20 bucks and comes with all the needed items, three different grits of sandpaper, polish, etc.

You have to take your time and wet sand the crap out of it, with the different grits. But if you take your time and don't have to many deep gouges the plastic will look new.

I did a set of front fenders on a 400ex and it took approximately 6-7 hours of solid working, but look great.
