For my EX400...I do not trust the factory tube and it cannot hold jack...What do the rest of you use/carry on the trail and how do you carry it?

Back pack... I didn't even get the tools/holder with my 400ex...

I was going to try to get a canister mounted to the frame up front somewhere. A 6 pack rack would be awsome. All you would have to do is make a box that only takes up a couple inches of the hight from the bottom and that would be mint.

I was thinking more along the loines of some kind of bag that can attach to the rear grab bar to hold the essentials.

I am always leary of wearing a backback or fanny pack offraod becuase of the chance of injury in a fall

You could mount something up front of the frame, someone on here had something like that (4punksdad) I don't have a pic.

I carry a backpack with a 2 liter hydrobladder in it I carry a small toolroll with the essential tools-2 ended screwdriver, 10, 12 and 14 mm wrenches, small adjustable, small visegrips, sparkplug tool, chain adjuster rod w/the allen wrench for the carrier clamp, tire plug kit and a chain press tool in case of a break! I also always have a camera and a 8-10 ft length of rope in case of breakdown towing, and the emergency roll of T-P! I have wrecked, rolled and crashed and never had any injury or broke anything in the pack! Oh yeah, I also carry a 12 inch folding saw for tree or branch removal. This is all in a pack a hardly bigger than a camelback. Survival Tools are a necessity!

Im lucky if I remember to put the factory tool kit back on my 400ex.lol.It has only left me stranded once because it was on reserve and I forgot to check how much gas I had.Pretty darn reliable for me,especially at a sandpit and going through mud...

I've found the cap to be very loose on the canister. My fix for it is wrap 2 rounds of electrical tape around the can and then install the cap. It works great and has never came off while riding.

I use my air box to hold my little hand pump.

I have a few hand tools wraped in a rag and a bunji cord inside the airbox.

Someone here has a pic of a tool box made of PVC mounted under there seat, I just bought some PVC and was wondering if they could post a pic of how they mounted it? Im thinking of using some large U bolts, 1 thru the air box, 1 thru the frame??
