hopefully you have the choke on, i have no idea what else it could be. Make sure its getting spark.

first thing is to check for spark. Pull off the spark plug wire and install another plug or install a screwdriver to check spark. Then if it has spark then you will need to pull out the spark plug. Check if it is wet or dry of fuel,if it is wet it is possible it may be flooded. After you check the plug and test the plug for spark then you will need to turn off your choke and fuel then drain your carb bowl and crank over the engine with the plug out to dry the cylinder. If everything is ok then we'll need to investigate further.

hey sweet lou...i had the same problem...im in cold canada but i learned to start my quad fine in the cold cold weather...heres a hint...look in the owners manual at page 52 under starting and stopping the engine...it says "when air temperature is below -15 celcius (about 3 or 4 farenheit), push the throttle lever eight times to discharge fuel from the accelerator pump into the intake port". i push it 10-12 times with no choke..then put the choke on and starts just fine after one or two tries...
on page 94 now...its better to use 5W-30 for low temperature...mine is still on break in with original oil in it but still starts just fine...tell me how it works for you !

There is a guy in our area that has an 450ER in the shop for starting problems. It hasnt been too cold either.
I dont know if it is a wide spread problem or not, but I hope it isnt.
