Just ordered my Geckos

Well, I took the plunge and ordered my Geckos on .160 wheels from Recreational Tires for $181 (including shipping to Oregon).

It was hard trying to decide what to buy. From what I've read, about half the people like the Geckos, and half don't. I guess it really depends on how someone rides.

I just bought an '02 400EX, and the stock tires weren't working that great at Winchester a few weekends ago. Should have bought tires then, but didn't want to wait before I took it out for the first time.

Anyway, I can't wait to try 'em out. I think we're heading to Christmas Valley in a few weeks with a lot of other people. If anyone's planning to go there, let me know.

I got mine back in feb. or march and i love them. I had the sand sharks before and they were o.k. but the geckos throw alot more sand than the sharks do. I am also able to hold my speed alittle better on some of the bigger sand hills.

Glad to hear that another person likes the Geckos.

I have Sand Sharks on my wife's Blaster, but have never tried them on the 400EX. I probably would have gotten Haulers, but didn't want to spend that much money.

Ive had mine for about 2 months now and still havent gotten to try them out yet :grr

I've tried them two weekends in a row...once at Coos Bay, Or, and once at Florence, OR.

I was pretty impressed with these tires in all aspects: trails, sidehilling, hillclimbs, etc were no problem for these tires. And what a roost those things throw!

The only thing I have to say is that my friend's 400EX with Sand Devil's did better on hillclimbs, but that's to be expected with straight paddles.

I think they are a great tire. I would say they are the next best think to Skat-trak haulers.

I bought a pair of Geckos on Douglass .160 this weekend at Jim's Sand Toys in Waynoka OK this weekend. These tires are great. Obviously, a lot better hook up than the stock tires on sand!!!

I have used my Gecko's once at Little Sahara. I liked them alot but I sitll like the Haulers better... Going to try out the Gecko's on the R next time down during Midwest Sandfest....
