hey man... i have a BRAND NEW, never installed feathercarbon hood "The Big Ugly". its actually made for a 250r but ive seen pics of them on here on a 400ex. heres just a few pics... i'll do some more searching and send u more. i am selling it because i decided to go with a quadtech... actually the guy from feathercarbon never replied to any of my emails and i got the hood 4 monthes after ordering it from him... i didnt even know if the order got through because i couldnt get ahold of him and he wouldnt return my calls so i didnt wait on him... lol anyway, kinda mad about that. so in my mail yesterday a big box with the hood came. wtf. heres some pics of the identical hood. i'll sell it for $75 shipped.
heres 3 pics that i found on how someone mounted it on a 400ex. they actually cut the fenders. i'm sure you could just mount it on top of the fenders w/o cutting out underneath it... as that is what i did with my quadtech.
