i've got a hot cams stage 2 cam that has been on the shelf for a while now. (the 400 didn't get the attention the 250r did, until now) my question concerns member's experiences, not concerning the power they made, but rideability/reliability.
My bike is due a rebuild (2000 completely stock), and i'm planning on a new topend, valve job, the cam that's been on the shelf for 2 years, and a pipe.
i've noticed that the aftermarket cams do not utilize the compression release function, and i've been wondering how that effects cranking. has anyone had any starter troubles? i eliminated the comp/release function on my 250x when i built it in highschool, much to my demise.
