So I'm just not sure about this Crankcase Breather... I understand it lets the crank breathe I guess, but anybody want to try and explain it to me? Does to suck much/any air, does it even need to be there? Just curious.

Thanks

BTW in case someone else doesn't even know what I'm going on about, it's part of the piece that connects to the air boot that goes from the air box to the carb....

It is my basic understanding that the breather tank is there to relieve pressure in the crankcase as well as to recycle blow-by gases back through the intake. Someone else please elaborate on this...

on some engine it will recycle back through the intake.its basically like a pcvvalve on cars, its just a vent for the gases that build up in the crankcase.on the carting circuit they will use this vent to operate a diaphram type fuel pump.these operate on vaccum/pulses generated by the crank vent:D
