was just wondering if anybody had ever tried the goki e start on the 04/05 450r. i know they have been around for a long time, i just dont know of the quality. be kinda nice to have e start and a kick backup for racing xc. it also has like 18% more engine oil because of the shape of the housing. im probably just going to get an 06 anyway, but just thinking out loud. thanks for any info.

ok well trust me on this one. the goki estarters are the biggest pieces of crap on the market today.

Two of my bestfriends have them. First off, they sound like electric pencil sharpeners when they're starting. Second off, the oil site glass is a piece of plastic and can break off and drain all over your motor oil extremely easily. (this already happened to one of my friends in a race.) My other friend has been having all sorts of electrical problems with his ever since the 2nd or 3rd race on them.

i think its much more worth it to just kick your bike over than to have so many problems.

but, some ppl dont mind fixing stuff..

I agree , e-start is a pain factory or aftermarket. Last weekend both my buddy's 400ex and DVX400 had to be jump started. I'll admit i was kinda worried about kick start when i first got my quad but now i love it.

Goki stuff is junk, wouldn't waste my time or money on one if I were you.

went riding this week end. It was 40 degrees and for the life of me I could not kick start the 450. I had some one tow me and jump started it. I also want to mention that I called a honda dealer and they said they can convert the quad to electric start but it will cost about 1000-1200$ and you lose the kick start option. Just thought I would tell you that goki is not your only option
