i'm kinda on a budget right now, and since i dont go to the dunes that much i dont need the top of the line tire. I have found four that fit within my budget:
*all with rims*
Kenda Geckos-115$ with .125's or 102$ with steel
GBC sand devils- 103$ with .125's or 90$ with steel
GBC sand shark- 123$ with .125's or 101$ with steel
Kenda Tracker- 122$ with .125's or 104$ with steel
tell me what you think....
I'm kinda leaning toward the steel rims just cause there way cheaper and i dont go duning that often....thanks for the help..

out of those options I would go with the sand sharks. I would not go with the steel rims if you are trying to save weight they are a lot heavier!!

i dont really care that much about weight, but how durable are the steels compared to the .125's.
I've run .125 on the rear for quite awhile with no problem, usually spend a fair amount of time on the sand trails that have alot of exposed roots too.
The sand robs alot of power so the lighter the better;)

how much lighter are .125's than steel?
I don't know the weight of a steel rim but an aluminum one weighs about 4 pounds.
I'd guess a steel one will be about triple that.

whiteflash im in the same boat yuo are. i only go to the dunes 3 or 4 times a year, and dont want to spend a fortune on paddles and wheels. i'll most likely get the sand shark on the .160 alum wheels.
WHAT is everybodys opinion on the sandshark paddles.

If you can. get some sandstars on .125 rims. those would work great and not too much more!
