Well i raced an indoor mx today and my quad is just way to quiet, on the holeshot i couldnt even hear my bike ( still got it tho  ) but my friend was telling me there was a removable insert and that it would sound better. IS this true?

i took the baffle out of mine, pretty simple sense it wont require any rejetting. there arent any performance gains from it but it does make it sound like a four stroke atleast

yeah i took it out on my 05,very very easy. Some guys even asked me if i got a different pipe for it.It makes it louder, but just didnt cut it for me,so i hadda get a real pipe.

I have test this on the 06' and Yes there is a power difference. The power difference is down low. It showed a major difference on the bottom end up. Its about the same on top. It sounded like crap in the higher rpm. I still say get an Exhaust. I'll post graphs later tonight on the comparison. It was with an 06' TRX450ER.

Thanks guys, i took it out today and when idling it sounds retarded honestly but when riding it sounds alright. If i do not have a slip on ( planning on HMF) by the time i start racing i might just remove the baffle so i can hear my quad on the line. But until then i will keep the baffle in because its pretty annoying when trail riding. And ill be looking for the money order tuesday quadnice mail doesnt go today. Thanx

I dont think it sounds that bad w/o the baffle. Or maybe I just got used to the sound.

I dont really mind that it sounds liek **** to other ppl, on the contrary I would like for it to agitate the heck out of the other racers while im riding hehe

im not being a dick but thats how race tracks get shut down is overly loud pipes. Me and my buddies are going to be running the quiet core HMF's most likely just because our local track is at stake to be shut down because of noise.

aftermarket pipes are actually louder than the stock pipe with no baffle. All the guys at my track run aftermarket exhaust system, and they are noticably louder.
