this has went beyond a point of nuisance. I have tried 3 different kind of grips on my renthals and despite super glue, grip glue, and wire tie i just cant seem to get them to stay stuck on. Any suggestions before i decide to start riding w/o them?

Spray a little spray paint in there, let dry. They won't come off. Or use athletic tape, wrap it around the bars, then pour some gasoline on the tape, slide the grips on.

Get safety wire wrap it around the grip twist it and take a hammer and beat it down in the grip so it wont cut your fingers, they'll never move I do it all the time.

what kind of grips are you using?

i take a razor blade and make X slits in the handlebars then put grip glue, slide the grips on, and put 3 wire ties on it.

your probably using dirtbike grips if u say that only one spins now. They make one dirtbike grip bigger for the throttle tube. U can just wrap some tape on that side then glue them again.

yeah if you did that then you wouldnt even be able to hold it on. ON my renthals the left side is knurled. I used rubber cement and let it cure for 3 hours then caught the gripd on fire and it works fine lmao I might try gorilla glue tho because the end of my left one is starting to spin

IMO, Gorrilla Glue isn't anything to be exicted about. It never really worked great for me.

Safety Wire. Wrap it around the grip, twist the two ends together as tight as you can, cut off excess, hammer down the ends into grips....never a problem again. I don't trust paint/glue/tape etc. anymore, because they've all failed for me.

DO NOT USE SPRAY PAINT ON SPIDER GRIPS! I tryed it once and it ate through the rubber in about 3-5seconds. Im not sure what can be used on Spider Grips and am worried about putting my next set on...may just try hairspray and safty wire.

0.020" thick safety wire for sure. Tried everything else before. No matter what I used, as soon as I went near water the grips would spin. The safety wire works perfect. Besides, if you ever have to remove your grips just cut the wire, blast a little compressed air under the grip and magically the grip comes flying off! You can re-use it too.I usually run 4 loops of wire per grip.

best way ive seen is just like golf clubs are gripped. It will not slip! Get some good two sided tape. the cloth type is best. wrap just 1 layer thick around your bars.2 layers at most. then put just a tiny bit of gas inside your grip. just enough to get it wet .pour out any excess and slip it on.you dont have too long to get it on. soon as the gas dries it gets tough to move. but should slip right on. let it dry atleast 24 hours before you ride. i garentee they wont move. if ya want wire tie em for safe measure.

I have tried different types of grip glues like Scott, Honda and others but I have found that
3M Weatherstrip Adhesive in the spray can is the easiest and most effective.

Just spray on the inside of the grips and they slide right on the bar like butter. Within 10 minutes or so, my grips were rock solid.
I used to have to safety wire my grips, but with this stuff, it's no longer necessary :D

If you haven't tried this way, give it a try, you'd be surprised how well it works.

Instead of using a razor blade to make x's, you might try some medium grit sand paper, or steel wool to scuff it up, then put some kind of glue on it.

That's a good idea, I didn't do that when I installed my grips. Similar idea with painting. Seems like it would create a slightly larger surface area for the glue to work in too. My grips still haven't budged a bit the way I did it though. Might have to try that next time.

I say that if the grip glue doesnt work, use spray paint. I have only used spray paint once and it worked really good. Also.... Im sure you did, but make sure you got the bars clean before trying to install new grips.
