i just bought a raptor from a friend of a friend, and its been sittin outside for 2 months and it wont get spark, im not sure what the problem is, im replacing the coil tomarrow, what else could it be? i cleaned just about all the electrical connections i could find is there any common problems for this happening to raptors that its probably gunna be,once i got a little, weak spark, but all the connections are clean and put on correctly so im not sure what it can be, i need help as soon as possible because i need to ride it, its jus sittin in my garage all clean and i never got to ride it yet :( and i dont want to take it to the dealer because i dont wanna get ripped off, like they do to everyone else.....

make sure the battery is good and charged, you can ohm out the coil to see if it is good instead of just replacing it, ground the spark plug (threads) against a good ground on the frame and see if it turns over. i had a bad stator in mine recently, supposedly a relatively common problem and it caused my baby not to spark.

Thankyou
The stator is c ommon problem? I thought this was what was the matter with mine and i gave it to a friend of my fathers to check out because hes a cycle mechanin and he talked to his friend whos a mechanic at yamaha, they said it was most likely the cdi, and not the stator, but they only said that because the cdi is more in the open than the staotr
but if this is a relatively common problem i might as wellget the stator, because that would most likely be the problem,
i hear of a lot more stators on any bike goin before i hear anything bot the cdi, i might just get both anyway, because ill be getting a better one of both
Thanks
Kyle :)
