how bout photobucket? By the way, what do you like better, the 35's or the big ground hawgs? I like the ground hawgs, I think it kinda makes it look like a monster truck

The ground hogs deffinatley would look better, but from the looks with those big lug tires they will wear alot faster on the road, and wont handle as good on the road, which is where that truck will probably be atleast 75% of the time. Did those s-10's come with a solid front axel, or did you fab up that one to fit? It's a great lookin truck.:macho

I wish I could say I did all that, but I bought it that way. All the suspension and stuff was professionaly done by a shop, I think they're called overkill racing. They built a monster truck called extreme overkill. The ground hawgs description says, great traction in mud and deeo snow, but also good road wear. I could probably post on a 4x4 truck site about how they are. I'm thinking about going to either 38s or 40s, the ones on there now are 35s. Man, the more I look at that it looks so sweet. unfortuanately I can't do any of this till I move to iowa, the truck sn't anywhere near legal in PA right now. :D

Your truck is cool I like the sfa with such a small truck you could put a list of all the tires you like and find the lightest one those suckers weigh a ton I know my husband made me change a tire on our old truck they where 37x14.50x16 parnelli jones and I about crapped my pants. You don't want to loose all of your power trying to turn those huge things. I'm not sure if you like them or not but the TRXUS STS are a bit lighter a friend of ours has some they are probably 39's on his Super Duty and they have gone 30k miles and he is strictly a pavement pounder.

yea those are nice tires, I don't think they would look quite as cool though, cuz they arent as aggressive looking. No matter what I'm probably gona end up having big heavy tires, but I'm planningon putting a v8 in someday (boy won't that be fun on gas). Right now I only have a little 4.3 v6 -210 hp:( :( But someday:cool: If I ever end up doing this though, I'll get some pics of it, maybe some wheelin pics too. O, do you think that dana 44s can handle that much tire? The rear is a ford 9 inch. And theres dana lockers front and rear with the locking front hubs if that affects anything strength wise.

they're crappy quality cuz I took a picture of a picture with my webcam. And they're small so they're hard to photoshop.

I had ground hawgs. They were hands down the worst handling tire on the road by FAR. In the mud wasnt far from the same. Ive had 35" or 315 I think BFG MTs also (moderate tire on and off road). The best tire I ever had was the goodyear wrangler MTRs. Great off road and even better on road. I was walking though stuff that my friends with swampers, boggers, and thornbirds were stuck. I have had both old and new style wrangler MT & MTRs. Every truck tire I will buy from now on will be MTRs.

aww man, that wasn't the answer I was hoping for, the ground hawgs looks so sweet but o well...Do you know of any good on and offroad tires that are more agressive looking than those mtrs? they're nice, Mut I'm looking for something a little meaner looking. I know it's hard to get good road wear with a meaty looking tire. I wish I could afford procomp Xterrains, I like those.

how bout that motor trade, lol jk nice truck

I know what you mean. I also had 38" swamper TSLs LOL. I had alot of lifted trucks and many sets of tires. The swaper TSLs are good. They are little meaner looking but in my opinion the MTRs hook up better on and off road. I was running the MTRs on my powerstroke that was pushing 550-600 lbs of torque at the wheels. In the rain just leaving a stoplight not in a hurry my BFGs would spin. When I switched to the MTRs I could drive around all winter without any wieght in the back and hook up like glue. The swampers would be my next pick. Stay away from thornbirds too even though they look cool.

These the swampers you're talking about? these are pretty sweet.

Goodyear should pay me for this.:D I know it doesnt rate mud. When we went wheelin in the winter I had to pull my friends out of the mud all the time in snow. Maybe it was because my truck was 8000 LBS and thiers were 6000.

ahhh...I'm in love, rhose tires are sweeet. I'm gonna have to find some reviews on them.

pastfast125
01-15-2006, 03:27 PM
is that pic of the irok the bias or radial? They say the radial is better for more road use and has less road noise and better wear pattern.

pastfast125
01-15-2006, 03:32 PM
they aren't too bad on the wallet either...39.5x13.5 for like 270$$

Could I fit a tire that's 13.5 wide on my rim now, my tires now are 12.5 wide, I would probably have to get wider rims right?

TM426
01-15-2006, 03:33 PM
LOL radials are alot better. The side walls are stronger and its harder to get flat spots. My friend cheaped out and got the bias and if his truck sat for a day or two when he drove the truck would shake till the spots rounded out. I like the staight axle. To bad the 49" iroks wont fit.

pastfast125
01-15-2006, 03:35 PM
that pic you showed me though, is that the bias or radial? do they look any different? Cuz I really like the one in the pic, I'm thinking, and everybody yells at me when I want to lift my truck more, but I'm thinking 4-6 inches more lift, plus 40 inch iroks or something..that would lift me like a total of like 8 inches higher...mmmmm funnnn

TM426
01-15-2006, 03:36 PM
Those tires will fit on those rims. With a truck that light I would go with a narrower tire. What happens when you hit the mud the larger surface will "float" on the mud and wont sink to the solid mud below to grab on.

TM426

They look the same. If you go bigger it kinda sucks but I would suggest bigger axels and deeper gears. You could run 40s on a 44 but I would put in stonger axel shafts (like strange axels). But the factory rear would probably fail.:(

pastfast125
01-15-2006, 03:49 PM
It's not the factory rear for the s10, it's a 1979 ford 9 inch rear, and I have 4.88 gearing front and back...And a lot as already done to the axles, I'm not sure of all of it though.

the tires im running on my z71 are nice tires....i got dunlop mud rover radial....i paid 578 m+b for these tires and they are pretty damn good for the price....i priced the mt/r and they were way out of my league...

all in all these tires perform good on the road wet or dry, and they are awsome in the mud & snow
