04/05 grab bar on an 06

This is how you can put an 04/05 grab bar on an 06 and use the 06 muffler mount. Doing this has an advantage in that in case of a crash or somebody's forgets there brakes, the muffler bracket and muffler should stay intact as the bracket is now seperate from the grab bar. First off line up the new grab bar and see if the holes line up. Some bars have slotted holes and some don't. If you need to slot a hole, slot the forward holes on each side. Here is a pic of the muffler bracket cut off.

The grab bar you use may need to be "spread" apart a little, because the muffler bracket and fender bracket get sandwiched between the grab bar and subframe.

Here is a pic of an aftermarket grab bar mounted, these holes were both already slotted.

And here is a pic of an 06 PRM grab bar with the muffler bracket cut off, and using the original bracket. This bar was "spread" a bit to fit over the brackets.
