Well i just in stalled my full system lrd pro4r pipe. and by the why i love it. it gives me good power and it is not that loud. but i am trying to jet it and the thing will not run right unless the air box lid is off. and i was wondering what you guys do to help prevent getting mud and water into the air box with the lid off.

What type of riding do you do? you can always try a billet adapter & K&N w an outerwear, probly not the best for keeping out water and mud though

i run harescrambles and trail ride and sometimes get into alot of mud. i have a uni air filter on it know. i do not trust k&n for air filters i have seen way to many bikes got through rings and stuff from running k&n. i was thinking maybe the k&n lid or the outerwear lid but i dont know if the will help from keeping the water out though

for one thing lrd says to take it of and another the lid restricts so much it is unreal. lrd says to run a 165 main with lid of and when i was trying it with the lid on i was clear down th a 145 and was still running like crap so i took it off and put a 160 in and it goes now.

i can get the jetting dialed in but i want something to protect the box mud and water then i can jet it because i dont want it open. so i know anything that will protect it will change the air flow.

I have one of these on my 400EX and I love it. I race XC and have never sucked any water. When I put my pipe on, I got a dynojet kit and they said to take the stock lid off. It ran perfect with the lid off. When I put the EHS lid on, it ran perfect. I will be ordering one for my 06 450R in a few weeks.

well the airbox is so high up and not much can get in there. On my 400ex i went to a 70 mile trail ride and i was going through creeks over my bumper pinned and never got any water in.
