My friend has a 300ex he wants to make more powerful and faster... he already added a full pipe, airfilter, and properly jetted it. He wants to get into the engine mods soon... He was thinking about a cam... Some people told him a webcam stage 3 would be good for his 300ex. What kind of power will he get from this cam? low, mid, top, or all around? He does mostly woods riding and some track riding. Someone also told him to Deck/Shave the head .020 or something like that... what would decking or shaving the head do for improvements? does it raise the compression? Wouldnt a high compression piston accomplish the same thing? thanks

All them mods will make it quicker not faster. Engine redline in final gear and gearing is what makes it faster. with them mods & a higher reving cdi box it will be quick and fast.

Where does the webcam inprove in power and what does Decking/Shaving the head do for improvements? Whats does it do, raise the compression?

the decking/shaving raises the compression and web cam has a few different cams to put the power where you want it. it sounds to me like your friend needs to call gthunder and send his motor in for a 350 big bore www.gthunder.com

Im pretty sure that with that big of a cam and the stock piston he's gonna loose bottom end power but gain a lot of top end wont he.

.310 lift -Bolt in camshaft improves overall performance.

.320 lift -Improved mid range and top end power. Use with performance exhaust and valve spring kit.

.335 lift - Strong mid and top end power for racing engines. Must use valve spring kit, piston, carburator and exhaust.

.360 lift - Special racing profile. Must use racing valve spring kit with shortened valve guides, piston, carburator and exhaust.
