Kick or Electric 06

I just sold my 300ex and am gonna get a 450r soon. I was wonderin what you all think about the electric start. Im gonna race mx mostly with it.

I think im gonna get the kicker since Ive had so many problems with the battery on my 300 and dying out in the woods somewhere with no way to start it. Plus kick start is cheaper and less weight.

kick. The only time ever I wished I had E-Start was stalling my quad at the WISP GNCC on the last lap rolling backwards down the mountain. I had no energy to kick it but, I'm out of shape. If I was in shape it would not be a problem. Just get the kick. Since my R was new, once it's warmed up, I can sit on the seat and kick it. It will start every time.

i still have a feeling big red is refining the kick model even more.

expect it to be different than the ER in a couple of ways...just my opinion.

I say kick start. you will save a few pounds.

if you tend to do more xc then go with electric start if mx then go with kick start

id get the kick for sure, i thought the kick would suck before i tried it, once i had my 450r and started getting used to it, i would never have it any other way, i love it way more then having to have a battery and a button

And everyone says the 06's start slow which doesnt sound like something I would want.

ya i heard the same thing, im wondering if they didnt use a big enough battery or something, maybe it doesnt turn the motor over fast enough, ive never seen one in person or rode 1, so im just guessing

I say kick start! I have an 05 and I have three friends with 06's all three have problems with the elec start. They only have problems once the bikes are warm. If it dies when it is warm it takes a while for it to start. I can start my 05 sitting down!! and it starts almost every time with one kick!!

it starts fine but you cannot give it the slightest of gas by the thumb which is horrible on an xc/gncc start

i have an 06 electric start and mine starts quick and easy everytime and i have yet to have any problems with mine whatsoever

but other hand my brothers 05 kicks easy so its whatever toots your horn
