I have a 300ex with stock gearing and im finding myself with way to much bottom end. Everyone says that the stock 300 has to much bottom end stock and i have added smaller rear tires and i just seems that my first gear is usless because it is so slow.Think i should go up a tooth in the front for more top speed.Anyone who has tried it please tell me how you liked it.

Yes, you need to go up a tooth (14) on the front. It should be close to stock then.

i had 13 39 on my 250x....plus 2k in engine mods butttttttttt im puttin 14 28 on now....20" tires....little more noticable....
rule of thumb: you want more top end you will have worse take off and less torque with bigger front/smaller back sprockets....vise versa

A 34 is the smallest you can go on the rear without changing the sprocket hub.
