good price for this 300?

its a 96 300ex,great shape,runs good,new holeshot rear tires and brand new plastics,they r asking 1600 and i know they will go down on price.maybe 1400?
its from my shop,just wondering if this is good,my g/f wants to buy a quad and dont know if she should spend that on it?lmk asap,thanks to all!!!
