You will really enjoy it. Mine was fast without the HRC kit. Put the kit in this past weekend, and the thing just flat out rips. It also doesn't sound that bad either. You will not be disappointed.

how big of a diffrence is the sound with the hrc kit

I believe its a night and day diffrence performance wise. As for the sound its not much of a diffrence. The hrc end cap is slightly louder.

Its a good deal louder even with the silencer installed but the power defii is simply amazing. The low end snap is finally back and a dramitic improvement over stock. After the snap it pulls well over redline and feels almost 2 strokish with the power coming on even harder at high revs. Prepare for anothe rinvestment in tires cause stockers will no longer due...;)

I'm very satisfied with it. It's definately louder than stock now, but not as loud as an aftermarket pipe. I'll probably get a slip-on at some point because I noticed when I pulled the muffler off that it's HEAVY.

I rode it for the first time with the kit last Sunday. There's a tabletop at my friend's track that's over 50 ft long and I used to hit it in 4th. Now I can hit it in 3rd. I can also ride in a gear higher than I used to and it'll pull it no problem. I was racing a buddy around the track and on a straight away before a jump we were side by side and I was at an RPM I would normally shift at. He started passing me so I just jammed the throttle without shifting and it actually pulled the front tires up! Supradean is right, it's almost like having a 2 stroke.

I only got to ride a stock R this summer, I wouldn't trade my uncorked R for any stock one now after riding one stock.

I have the 06 hrc and full sparks big core pipe. Put on 18" tires on the back and rode it on a mx track and it liked to pull my arms off!!!!!!It's a stump puller, can't wait to drag it against those yammies'
Also rode a buddies 04/05 honda with the 480 kit and hc 2 cam and I could tell mine had alot more power, everywhere:macho

why waste them money on a hrc kit when you can go pipe and cam for less, and cut the green wire, and have the hrc kit?

Cut what green wire?

01-11-2006, 07:05 PM

Wow! I have never heard of this before.

Not just any Green wire!! Do a search its posted somewhere. The HRC has a Jumper that you install.

Go to HMF WEBSITE go to Forums, and then 450r and its a sticky.

Gives you an extra 150 RPMS.

Pipe and cam for under retail of the HRC?

Most people cant get their parts that cheap.

Rossier pipe $400 complete
Hot Cam Stage 2 $150
Jet Kit $30-40 from rossier
Makes more hp and torque then the hrc kit, i seen the dyno's over 47hp, i know the real numbers but can't say at this time.

Thats 600..

Complete HRC for 360 retail and you got close to 47 HP.

I wont worry about 2 hp for 240 bucks. Most riders wont even be able to notice the difference let alone utilize it

I see that they are talking about jumping the 06. I wonder if it works on the 04 05 models.

I have read numerous times that the 06 with hrc makes 50rwhp.

01-12-2006, 05:38 AM
what 50hp? with just the hrc!
:huh
My statement was just that, and idea!
I know some people, would want a little more power, less weight of the stock pipe.
and the old HRC cam works better then the new 06 cam!
the 06 is a smaller cam.
Im not no great motor builder, but i know i would go with a full system pipe, and a cam, and have a lighter, and faster bike! nothing more major, but with more add ons it could be!

The Rossier kit, makes 48.5 vs 38.6 stock, and 45.8 with out the baffle hrc, and normal hrc kit 44.5hp

Im not no great motor builder,

the 06 is totally different, I've rode both bikes and one with a 480 kit and stage 2 cam and mine will run circles around them.

once again, this is for 06 hrc owners

Queston i have an 05 R with a yosh full system k&n and a dyno jet kit what would be the next mod i should look at dropping in the motor? a cam? and if i where to put a different cam in it would it affect my engine life? thnx in advance...

Shawn H

Definetly a cam is next for you and NO it wont hurt your engine life.

supradean
01-13-2006, 07:31 AM
They build these motors very and release them to the public all bottled up to meet epa regulations. The cams and mods we do only "unlease the bottles beast" and wont hurt your motor providing the install is correct and jetting is proper. The motor will run longer thne you will own the machine for........

Thnx for the answers... i was just curious about the engine life because my old mans always in my ear about how it will affect engine life!! as for a cam whats a good cam? or what are the differences in cams?

01-13-2006, 11:40 AM
Wrong boys, some cams are very hard on the valve train. can break valves, and can wear parts out quicker then normal.
Higher compression can add to this one to more heat and stress. All motor upgrades will add in causing motors to wear more quickly! more power means more wear, clutches, springs, head and clutch, etc.
If you stay on top of these things and do good maintance, and change parts, and keep them parts you have in it, up to spec. you should be fine, Maintance is key!
You can go with a hrc, or hot cams, which do not have the power as other ones which you need heavier valve springs, and have more wear on the valve train, but you will still see some added power.
cams, keeped shim'ed, and the springs in spec, keep an eye on the cam chain, and you will be okay!

Does the HRC cam for the '06 R need to be shimmed when it is installed?
